SQUANTZ POND STATE PARK
LOCATION - The park is 4 miles north of New Fairfield on Connecticut 39.
ACTIVITIES - Enjoy a picnic, take a hike, go boating from the boat launch, swimming, scuba diving, and fishing in the pond. Photographers come here in the fall to film the fall foliage reflected in the water. During the winter, go ice skating and cross-country skiing.
Ogden House and gardens are at 1520 Bronson Road in Fairfield. From 1-95, take Exit 20. Its eighteenth-century saltbox farmhouse has Revolutionary era furnishings plus wildflower and kitchen gardens. It's open mid-May through mid-October, Thursday and Sunday from 1:00-4:00. For information, call 203-259-1598.
