KETTLETOWN STATE PARK
LOCATION - The park is 5 miles south of Southbury. Take Exit 15 off 1-85. The park extends approximately 2 miles along the east shore of Lake Zoar.
FEATURES - Kettletown got its name from when settlers purchased the land from the Indians for one brass kettle.
ACTIVITIES - Enjoy camping in one of 72 campsites, and go fishing, hiking, and swimming. Attend camper nature programs.
Drive to Southford Falls State Park, 4 miles southwest of Southbury on Connecticut 188, to see the scenic waterfalls on Eight Mile River at the southeast end of the park. Go horseback riding along Larkin Bridle Trail, hiking, pond or stream fishing, and attend interpretive programs. During the winter, go ice skating and cross-country skiing.
