BRANDYWINE CREEK STATE PARK
LOCATION - The park is 3 miles northwest of Wilmington at the intersection of Delaware 100 and Delaware 92. The park entrance is on Adams Dam Road.
ACTIVITIES - Hikers have 12 miles of trails, including Tulip Tree Trail with 190-year-old tulip poplars. Canoe down the Brandywine River or play disc golf on the eighteen-hole course. Equestrians can ride the equestrian trails. Anglers come to Wilson's Run to fish for trout in early spring. A trout stamp is required.
Tour the nature center open year-round and attend a naturalist program. Freshwater Marsh is Delaware's first dedicated nature preserve and is home to an elusive bog turtle.
