BEAR BROOK STATE PARK
LOCATION - The large state park is 5 miles northeast of Hooksett off New Hampshire 28 and 2 miles east of Allenstown. It's also 8 miles northeast of Suncook off New Hampshire 28.
ACTIVITIES - The 10,000-acre park is open from mid-May through mid-October. Visitors can go swimming from the beach, picnicking, practice archery, work out on a fitness course, and enjoy canoe and rowboat rentals. Hike along 20 miles of hiking trails, mountain bike, and go stream and pond fishing. Camp in the 81-site campground with a dump station and purchase supplies in the camp store.
Tour the museum complex composed of three museums. The CCC Museum Family Camping Museum, and the historic meeting house are open summer weekends from 10:00-4:00. The Snowmobile Museum, with its impressive collection of snow machines is open weekends, December-March. A nature center is open from May-October.
Go cross-country skiing and snowmobiling in the winter.
