The Naval Air Station Pensacola was assigned as the primary headquarters for the Chief of Naval Education and Training development in 1971. The development is in effective in executing directions and controls for all Navy training, educational organizations and activities. This establishment is located 60 minutes away from the eastern section of Mobile, Alabama, 500 miles from the city of Orlando, Florida and 45 minutes west of Fort Walton Beach in Florida. This landmass of 25.09 square miles attracts and the altitude of 120 feet above ocean level. The beaches in the United States are well maintained and monitored by this organization and maximum protection is alleviated for all shores.

The facility is well equipped with educated operatives that are professionally trained to deal with aviation particulars. There are 111 Fighter Composite Squadron and 106 Strike Fighter Squadron available for duties in the subdivision. Other operatives of the organization may include the Joint Interagency Task Force South, the Construction Battalion Maintenance Unit Detachment Key West and the United States Army Special Forces Underwater Operations School.Naval Air Station Pensacola Museum

The Naval Air Station Pensacola is also the commanding host for the Naval Aviation Schools Command which also accommodates the followings subdivision schools:

The institution is also well known for its commanding operations of the merger between the Officer Candidate School and the Aviation Officer Candidate School in 2007. The establishment also handles complex operations executed by over 7, 400 civilian operatives and 16, 000 military employees in the Santa Rosa and Escambia counties. Due to the high impact of damages experienced by Hurricane Ivan in 2004, the base was realigned temporarily in 2005 for reconstruction. Currently the facility is rehabilitated and is controlled by Captain S.W. Holmes.
