MAUDSLAY STATE PARK
LOCATION - To reach Maudslay from the north and south, take 1-95 to Massachusetts 113 East. Follow 113 East Уг mile to Noble Street. At the stop sign, turn left onto Ferry Road. Follow signs for 3.3 miles.
From the west, off 1-495 take Exit 55 to Massachusetts 110 east. Continue one mile to Merrill Street. Turn right at the second street and continue on Merrill Street/Spofford Street for 1.5 miles. Turn right before the stop sign onto Ferry Road. Follow signs for 4 more miles to reach the park.
FEATURES - The park occupies the former Moseley Estate, and features nineteenth-century gardens, including one of the largest stands of mountain laurel in eastern Massachusetts.
ACTIVITIES - Maudslay is open year-round from 8:00 am until dusk where you can hike scenic trails. Three special walks include the 3A mile Garden Walk, the 1 V^-mile River Trail, and the 3-mile Laurel Trail. Attend an interpretive program. Equestrians and bicyclists also enjoy exploring the trails and cross-country skiers arrive in the winter.
Stroll through Cushing House Museum at 98 High in Newburyport. The Federal mansion, circa 1808, has many paintings, a carriage house, and garden. It's open seasonally Tuesday-Sunday.
