LYNN HERITAGE STATE PARK
LOCATION - The park is on the water opposite the North Shore Community College at 154 Lynnway in Lynn. To reach the park, take Route 1A, the Lynnway. The visitor center is at 590 Washington Street.
FEATURES - Lynn is famous for its shoe manufacturing and for the nineteenth-century reformers who lived here.
ACTIVITIES - Exhibits are open year-round on Wednesdays and Sundays from 10:00-4:00. Tours on other days are available by reservation. Rent paddle boats on weekends and Wednesday evenings in July and August. Visit the Boston Harbor islands by boat or water taxi in July, leaving from Lynn's Waterfront Park. Walk along Waterfront Park's boardwalk, watching for the large ceramic and Venetian glass mosaic depicting the city's history. Go fishing and tour the visitor center and watch their slide show. Attend a free summer outdoor concert in the park.
Annual functions at Seaport Landing in Lynn include fishing tournaments, Harbor Monster Day, Blessing of the Fleet, regattas, a mystery rendezvous, and dock parties. For details, call 617-592-5821 or 617-592-6010.
